Divisional Commissioner Asheesh Singh and Collector Raushan Kumar Singh inspected road projects linked to Simhastha 2028 in Ujjain on Monday and told officials to speed up construction while holding to quality standards.<\/p>\n
The first project is the Simhastha Bypass, a 19.8-kilometre four-lane road being built by the Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation. Sub-grade work is complete, and laying of granular sub-base and construction of culverts are now in progress.<\/p>\n
The second is the 98.7-kilometre four-lane Ujjain\u2013Jaora greenfield road, which runs along the Sodang\u2013Unhel road. Sub-grade, sub-base and culvert work is under way here too. Officials were asked to set targets according to progress and to add resources wherever the work is lagging.<\/p>\n
For both projects, the officers directed that monthly targets be fixed, that engineers be present at the sites and that construction materials undergo special testing and inspection. The work is to be finished within the set deadlines, though the report does not list specific dates.<\/p>\n
The officers also reviewed traffic arrangements on the Nanakheda\u2013Lal Gate stretch, including at Kala Pathar Chauraha. The Public Works Department's Simhastha Division has been told to prepare a detailed plan to organise the intersection and connect the service road for safer and smoother movement. The plan must cover vehicles entering Ujjain from Indore, those heading from Ujjain towards Indore, and traffic from nearby residential areas, without inconveniencing residents and commuters.<\/p>\n
