The Madhya Pradesh government on Tuesday transferred Sagar Collector Pratibha Pal and Superintendent of Police Anurag Sujania as part of a reshuffle of IAS and IPS officers.<\/p>\n
Dilip Kumar Yadav, a 2014-batch IAS officer, has been named the new Collector of Sagar. He was earlier Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation in Bhopal. Sanjeev Kumar Sinha, a 2016-batch IPS officer, is the new Superintendent of Police. He was previously Commandant of the 14th Battalion of the Special Armed Force in Gwalior.<\/p>\n
Pratibha Pal has been made an Additional Secretary in the state government, while Anurag Sujania has been posted to Police Headquarters in Bhopal as an Assistant Inspector General of Police.<\/p>\n
The government has not officially connected the transfers with the liquor incident at Banda in Sagar district, and it has not given reasons for the moves. Speculation about administrative action began after the Banda incident and grew after a similar episode in Dewas district. The news report headlined the move with a death toll of 20 from the Sagar liquor tragedy, and a related report said about 40 police personnel were line-attached after the Banda deaths.<\/p>\n
