This divine procession, carrying forward a 361-year tradition, was to begin from the Fort premises on June 27.<\/p>\n

Rewa. Vindhya Satta<\/h3>\n

Preparations had gathered pace for that year\u2019s historic Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath, which keeps Rewa\u2019s religious and cultural heritage alive, to be held with special grandeur and dignity. In this connection, an important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Maharaj Pushpraj Singh, attended by the organising committee, religious leaders, social representatives and prominent citizens.<\/p>\n

The aim of the meeting was to take concrete decisions on preparations for the upcoming Jagannath Rath Yatra Rewa, including the route, security, cultural presentations and coordination.<\/p>\n

Repair of the rath route a priority<\/h3>\n

The meeting first discussed repairing the damaged road from Bichhiya to the Fort. Sewer line construction had left the road in a poor state, raising fears that the 361-year-old historic rath could be damaged. Immediate repairs were demanded.<\/p>\n

To be publicised as Jagannath Rath Yatra Rewa<\/h3>\n

The Rath Yatra would now be officially promoted under the name Jagannath Rath Yatra Rewa, so that its history and identity gained recognition at the national level.<\/p>\n

Preparing the grandest yatra yet<\/h3>\n

The plan was to make that year\u2019s Rath Yatra the grandest, most devotional and culturally richest so far. Tableaux, devotional music, traditional costumes, special decoration of the route and the sound of conch shells would give the event a divine character.<\/p>\n

Route and timing<\/h3>\n

The traditional route had been fixed, passing mainly through the Fort, Uprahati, City Kotwali, Fort Road and Manas Bhawan. The Rath Yatra was to start from the Fort premises at 4 pm on June 27, 2025.<\/p>\n

Keeping a 361-year tradition alive<\/h3>\n

The yatra was first started in 1664 CE by Maharaj Bhavdev Singh Judev. It was not only a religious event but a symbol of Rewa\u2019s historic tradition, the royal family\u2019s devotion and the people\u2019s faith.<\/p>\n

Maharaj Pushpraj Singh\u2019s appeal<\/h3>\n

Maharaj Pushpraj Singh said the event was a matter of Rewa\u2019s religious identity and pride. He appealed to all departments to coordinate and make the event a success with timely preparations.<\/p>\n

Festive mood in the city<\/h3>\n

Residents were particularly enthusiastic about the Rath Yatra. Devotees were eager to see this historic event in grand form and were ready to take part.<\/p>\n

Jagannath Rath Yatra Rewa was a proud symbol not only of religious faith but of Rewa\u2019s cultural consciousness and historic tradition.<\/p>\n

Those present at the meeting included Dr Prabhakar Chaturvedi, Dinanath Shastri, Mahendra Awadhiya, Rakesh Singh, Shivali Singh, Pradyumn Singh, Manish Singh Malkani, Alka Tiwari, Ramesh Gautam, Mukesh Tiwari, Kamta Tiwari, Asad Khan, Mahendra Shukla and Vikram Dwivedi, along with other dignitaries.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
