The Navankur Sakhi Hariyali Yatra and Hariyali Mahotsav (green festival) was organised on Friday in Amilki gram panchayat under the Jan Abhiyan Parishad Rewa, Govindgarh sector, by the Navankur organisation, Sarita Shiksha evam Gramin Vikas Samiti. The programme began with a kalash yatra rally in which villagers took part enthusiastically, accompanied by a band. A group plantation drive followed.<\/p>\n

At the venue, the event was formally inaugurated with the lighting of a lamp and floral tributes to an image of Goddess Saraswati. Guests were welcomed with garlands and bouquets. Gurh MLA Nagendra Singh was the chief guest, while Rewa Janpad Panchayat president Sunita Yadav presided.<\/p>\n

Special guests included Amilki sarpanch Bavita Mishra, mandal president Pradeep Tripathi and former sarpanch Ramnaresh Mishra. Sarpanch Bavita Mishra gave the welcome address, while Jan Abhiyan Parishad district coordinator Jageshwar Tamrakar introduced the theme of the event.<\/p>\n

School students presented a welcome song. In her address, the Janpad president praised the efforts of the Navankur organisation and called the villagers\u2019 participation inspiring. MLA Nagendra Singh spoke at length on the importance of environmental protection and described events such as tree planting as the need of the hour.<\/p>\n

Saplings were then presented to the Navankur Sakhis to encourage them to plant trees. Block coordinator Amit Awasthi proposed the vote of thanks, and organisation president Rajendra Mishra conducted the programme.<\/p>\n

Refreshments were distributed to all after the programme ended. Organisation president Rajendra Mishra thanked all visitors and participants.<\/p>\n

Those present included mandal president Pradeep Tripathi, school principal Umesh Tiwari, Laura sarpanch Rajesh Verma, Hardishankar sarpanch Ramlakhan Singh, Janpad Panchayat EPO Rashmi Gautam, ADO Nagendra Mishra, Ajeevika Mission block coordinator Anil Tiwari, former sarpanch Ramnaresh Mishra, MLA representative Babulal Yadav, MP representative Rajesh Yadav, health department CHO Nagendra Mishra, ASHA and anganwadi workers, Navankur Sakhis, teachers, students, members of the Prasphutan Samiti and a large number of villagers.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
