Rewa Superintendent of Police Vivek Singh held a crime review meeting with all sub-divisional officers and police station in-charges of the district. The meeting discussed in detail pending cases, heinous crimes, crimes against women, gang activities, vehicle seizures, service of summons and warrants, and other law-and-order issues.<\/p>\n

The SP directed that lists of pending cases, challans and seized vehicles at police stations be prepared and disposed of quickly through executive magistrates. The status of online service of summons and warrants was presented through a PowerPoint presentation, and the officers concerned were clearly instructed to improve the rate of service.<\/p>\n

Serious concern was expressed at the meeting over rising incidents of theft, burglary, robbery and shootings in the city. Treating crimes against women and cases involving girls as extremely serious, priority was set on resolving them in a time-bound manner. Officers were also directed to collect information on offenders involved in theft, robbery, burglary and firing, especially history-sheeters, and keep them under continuous watch. Special emphasis was laid on making night patrolling more effective.<\/p>\n

The SP asked for an in-depth review of pending POCSO cases, crimes against women, SC-ST Act cases, cases related to the juvenile court, identified offenders and serious cases involving release from jail, and for strict action to be ensured. Directions were also given to run special drives against the Goonda Act, CSPO Act, externment (district badar), missing persons, recovery of girls, illegal liquor, illegal weapons and drug trafficking.<\/p>\n

The meeting also directed that the activities of disorderly elements around educational institutions, coaching centres and girls\u2019 hostels in the city be watched.<\/p>\n

Those present at the meeting included Additional Superintendent of Police Aarti Singh, city superintendents of police Ritu Upadhyay and Rajeev Pathak, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Headquarters) Himali Pathak, and all sub-divisional officers and police station and traffic in-charges of the district.<\/p>\n
