The Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya district unit, Panna, was to organise a large blood donation camp on 22 August on the occasion of Rajyogini Dadi Prakashmani\u2019s 18th death anniversary and World Fraternity Day. The camp was to be held at the government hospital, Devendranagar.<\/p>\n

Giving details, Brahma Kumari Sita Behen said blood donation was not only a great act of saving lives but the real form of service to humanity. She said, \u201cA drop of blood is the gift of a new breath. This service not only gives life to the body but also spreads a message of compassion, brotherhood and unity in society.\u201d<\/p>\n

The organisation\u2019s aim and global reach<\/p>\n

The Brahma Kumaris Ishwariya Vishwavidyalaya was founded in 1937 in Sindh (now in Pakistan) and was headquartered in Mount Abu, Rajasthan. Its aim was spiritual awakening, restoration of moral values and establishment of world peace. At that time it served in more than 140 countries, where lakhs of people, inspired by meditation, yoga and a positive way of life, experienced happiness and peace. Its contribution was also notable in areas such as education, health, women\u2019s empowerment and environmental protection.<\/p>\n

Spiritual expression of Raksha Bandhan<\/p>\n

On this occasion, Brahma Kumari Sita Behen tied rakhis on the journalists present and, as a token, had them pledge to remove one vice from their lives and take up a new resolve of positivity. She explained that in the Brahma Kumari tradition Raksha Bandhan was not merely a traditional brother-sister festival but a symbol of the soul forming a sacred bond with the Supreme, a bond that inspired purity, harmony and selfless service in thought, word and deed.<\/p>\n

Dr Rajesh Gamne, convener and director of the local centre, spoke in detail about the origin, objectives and services of the Brahma Kumaris, saying the organisation rose above the boundaries of caste, religion, language and country to realise the principle of \u2018Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam\u2019. He invited everyone to a three-day spiritual programme that was to be held at Mount Abu in September and thanked all for their cooperation.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
