There was a unique Shiva temple in Lasa gram panchayat, which only the people of the village\u2019s Kala locality knew about; outsiders had never been told of it. The temple had been functioning for many years and had been established near the Shiva temple and the Bateshwar Nath temple. It was believed that wishes made at this temple were fulfilled, and it was quite famous. It remained a secret that no one, and certainly not the government, had noticed. There was no road to the temple. On one day a year, Bahula Chauth, a large fair was held there, and more than a thousand devotees came for darshan.<\/p>\n

On other days the temple did not see many visitors, but that one day was special, when the fair was organised. The writer requested the government to take note of the temple and begin construction work on it and on its pond, and to give it a proper form. The writer said questions were often raised about Hindu religion and claimed it was on the verge of decline, but faith still lived in the villages: older generations and the new generation alike went to temples to worship, so the government should work to build this temple to preserve the faith. There was no road to the temple, only a footpath through fields, which caused devotees great difficulty. Because of stray animals, the path had come close to being blocked, and the temple was on the verge of closing.
