His name stood for a forward-looking, visionary approach to development. His far-sighted vision, unwavering will to take it to the ground and combative personality made him special. Working tirelessly for the development of every citizen, Shukla\u2019s humility made his personality extraordinary. Remaining humble after reaching the top was his greatest quality. He had the firm strength to face challenges and achieve goals. Even his opponents did not hold back from praising his ability to discharge assigned responsibilities efficiently. Rajendra Shukla\u2019s life was a living example of struggle and service. His personality was built from a remarkable blend of generosity, kindness, sensitivity and gentleness. His broad thinking had brought a unique mix of practicality and spirituality to his personality. This charismatic personality and distinctive thinking were the basis of his successes.<\/p>\n

In Shukla\u2019s life, politics had meant service. His personality carried a dedicated spirit of service, a passion for tackling challenges and the ability to turn problems into opportunities. Without any show, he listened to and understood the problems of every section of society and stayed ready to resolve them. This was why he had built a close bond with the common people.<\/p>\n

Life journey and politics<\/h3>\n

Rajendra Shukla was born on 3 August 1964 in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. His early education was also in Rewa. From his student days he moved towards politics and public service. In 1986 he was elected president of the Rewa Engineering College students\u2019 union. In 1992 he played an active role in organising a youth conference.<\/p>\n

He joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in 1998 and was made a member of the state executive. Elected MLA for the first time in 2003, he became Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Housing and Environment. He continued his winning run after that.<\/p>\n

As Energy Minister, he launched the Atal Jyoti Yojana in 2009, a historic achievement on the way to 24-hour power supply in the state. Under his leadership, Madhya Pradesh emerged from a power crisis to become a power-surplus state.<\/p>\n

In 2013 he successfully handled important portfolios including Energy, Mineral Resources, Public Relations, Commerce and Industry, Employment and Non-Resident Indians. As Public Relations Minister he introduced several schemes for the benefit of journalists.<\/p>\n

Elected MLA for the fourth time in 2018 and the fifth time in 2023, he took oath as Deputy Chief Minister on 13 December 2023. As of August 2025, he was working continuously to make the state\u2019s health services accessible and excellent. His goal was to take Madhya Pradesh to the top of the country on health service standards.<\/p>\n

Dreaming of the all-round development of the Vindhya region, Shukla had always prioritised its economic, social, cultural and tourism progress.<\/p>\n
