In the same vein, a unique and grand celebration of Lord Shri Krishna\u2019s birth was held at Rewa Central Jail on Saturday. The inmates then presented a lively depiction of Krishna\u2019s leelas through devotional songs, dance, bhajan-sankirtan and tableaux. The enthusiasm and dedication of the prisoners in the cultural performances were remarkable.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to the media, Jail Superintendent S K Upadhyay said: \u201cReligious and cultural events like Janmashtami steer prisoners towards positive thinking. This programme inspires them to reflect on themselves and give their energy a constructive direction. Many prisoners said the Janmashtami event reminded them of home and family.<\/p>\n<p>Even within the high walls of the jail, the day had an atmosphere of devotion, joy and delight.
