The report said his becoming president would bring a bright future for Shahdol city and a strong peak for the Congress party. He was held in high esteem and affection in society and gave respect to everyone in the city, big or small. He regarded the late Rajiv Gandhi as his political ideal and followed his ideals. He was described as a social worker who helped people of every caste and religion, which was why people of every faith in the city respected him.
