Aslam Sher and district convener Rajendra Kol, with other members of the organisation present. It described the pitiable condition of the cow shelter in Gram Panchayat Mudgudi, which had a capacity to care for about 100 stray, injured and old cows. It said the government had provided adequate funds for its upkeep and pasture development. In 2021-22, a pasture was also developed on 6 acres of land near the shelter at a cost of about Rs 20 lakh, yet the animals were getting neither enough fodder nor proper shelter. The Manch\u2019s office-bearers demanded that all cow shelters in the district be inspected and their needs met so that such incidents did not recur. They also demanded punitive action against those responsible for the animal deaths at the Mudgudi shelter.
