The Assembly\u2019s Agriculture Development Committee reviewed agricultural development in Rewa district. At a meeting held in the Mohan Auditorium of the Collectorate, committee chairman and MLA Dilip Singh Parihar said farming had developed rapidly in the Vindhya region. Over the past five years, production of paddy, wheat, fruits and vegetables had grown quickly there. He said government development schemes should be implemented effectively to modernise farming, and natural farming, organic farming and crop diversification should be promoted. Farmers should be connected to profitable farming through innovation. Farming was the livelihood base of 75 percent of the country\u2019s population; with the growth of farming, both farmers and the country would prosper.<\/p>\n

Assembly agriculture committee reviewed farm development in Rewa<\/h3>\n

The chairman said the 750 MW solar power plant in Rewa was a very big achievement for the region, and that Delhi\u2019s metro trains ran on Rewa\u2019s green energy. He urged continued efforts for solar energy development. He said 183,000 farmers in the district were benefiting from the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme, and the remaining farmers should also be benefited by completing their e-KYC. Assembly-constituency-wise details of farmers benefiting from the crop insurance scheme should be provided to the committee. Animal husbandry and poultry farming should be promoted along with farming. The 83 cases recorded in banks under the Acharya Vidyasagar Gau Sanvardhan Yojana should be approved and loans and subsidies disbursed. Over 8,000 cattle were being cared for at the Basaman Mama Gau Abhayaranya in the district. Stray cattle still roaming the roads should be placed in cow shelters, and the arrangements at panchayat-run shelters should be improved.<\/p>\n

Committee member and MLA Narendra Prajapati raised the issue of urea shortage in the district and cattle roaming on roads. He said strict action should be taken against those black-marketing fertiliser. ADM Sapna Tripathi, present at the meeting, said continuous efforts were being made to ease fertiliser distribution in the district. Fertiliser was being sold at all private dealers\u2019 shops in the presence of revenue and agriculture department officials. FIRs had been registered and action was being taken against five shopkeepers found involved in illegal fertiliser trade. Joint Director, Animal Husbandry, Dr Rajesh Mishra said continuous efforts were being made to remove cattle from roads and place them in shelters. Hinauti Gaudham was being developed in Gangev block, where 50,000 destitute cattle were to be kept. Joint Director, Agriculture, J.S. Netam briefed the meeting on agricultural development work in Rewa district and division. Committee members and MLAs Sunil Tiwari, Shrikant Chaturvedi, Santosh Barkade, Bhairav Singh Bapu and Sahab Singh Gurjar were present, along with all concerned officials.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
