Bhai Rakam Singh enthralled the congregation with his kirtan and bani. The service in keeping with Sikh traditions was a centre of attraction for devotees. The fifth Sikh Guru, Guru Arjan Dev, first installed the Guru Granth Sahib at the Golden Temple in 1604. At this first Prakash of the scripture, which has 1,430 angs (pages), the sangat held kirtan divans and Baba Buddha Ji began the recitation of the bani. Baba Buddha Ji, who devoted his life to serving the Sikh faith from the first to the sixth Guru, became the first granthi of the scripture.

Guru Arjan Dev’s words were written by Bhai Gurdas

In 1603 the fifth Guru, Guru Arjan Dev, had Bhai Gurdas begin writing the Guru Granth Sahib, which was completed in 1604. It was named the Adi Granth. In 1705, Guru Gobind Singh completed it at Damdama Sahib by adding 116 shabads of Guru Tegh Bahadur. In 1708, the tenth Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, issued the decree at Hazur Sahib: All Sikhs are commanded to accept the Granth as Guru. Because of heavy rain, the kirtan and langar of the Prakash Parv programme were held in the hall beside the Gorbi ground. The kirtan and ardas concluded at 3:30 pm, after which prasad and langar were distributed to the sadh sangat gathered at the gurudwara.

Many members of the sadh sangat from Singrauli attended. The entire programme was celebrated with great fervour at Gorbi Gurudwara. Among those present at the Prakash Parv were Morwa SDPO Gaurav Pandey (IPS), Sonbhadra CDO Jagriti Awasthi (IAS), and NCL Gorbi officials, along with committee members Harcharan Singh, Gurubachan Singh, Devendra Pal Singh, Tejinder Singh, Tarsem Singh, Manmohan Singh and Harmeet Singh, and hundreds of devotees from Singrauli.

[19

post-945","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-religion-spirituality
["GET
