Acting on the information, a police team led by Sarai station in-charge Jitendra Bhadauria and outpost in-charge Sub-Inspector Priyanka Singh Baghel set out immediately. The team cordoned off the area near Mahuagaon and tried to stop the suspicious Duster. The driver tried to flee on seeing the police, but the vehicle was stopped by the cordon. On searching the vehicle, the occupants gave their names as Ashian Singh and Manish Kumar Panika. Police recovered 27 cases of illegal liquor during the search. The seized liquor was estimated to be worth Rs 1,32,200. The vehicle and all the goods were duly seized and a case was registered under Section 34(2) of the Excise Act.
