Even after new cables were laid, problems such as faults all day and 33 kV supply tripping were reported, badly affecting ordinary life. The Bharatiya Janata Party government, which came to power promising uninterrupted 24-hour electricity, appeared to be turning away from the problem. Either nobody listened to the government, or the problem arose from the arbitrariness of officials and employees, or the state government itself had created such an arrangement. Whatever the circumstances, it was the public that suffered.

Students’ future was being ruined

Examinations were due to begin in schools and colleges from September, and there the power went off all night after even a little rain, which disrupted students’ studies. How could poor students study and move ahead in the dark? The government made many announcements on paper for children’s bright future, but the power problem stood as a big obstacle to their studies. The government had to resolve it.

Kerosene stopped since lockdown; homes plunged into darkness when power failed

Until the lockdown, every person could get kerosene at the fair price shop, so when the power went off people lit their homes with chimney lamps or lanterns, and students too could study by their light. But since the lockdown, kerosene had suddenly stopped being available at fair price shops and in the open market, spreading darkness in poor homes. When power stayed off all night even after a little rain, poor homes were left in darkness. If poor people were given kerosene, lighting in their homes would certainly be possible when there was no electricity. Although kerosene was distributed in some districts of Madhya Pradesh, there was no information of kerosene being distributed at any fair price shop in the Devtalab assembly constituency of Mauganj district. The reason for this needed to be investigated.

[4

post-951","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-madhya-pradesh-news
["GET
