The body of Janki Rathore, 25, of Mau village, was found in two parts on the track at Beohari railway station; police said she had died after being hit by a train and were investigating.

The body of Janki Rathore, 25, a resident of Mau village in the Beohari police station area of the district, was found in two parts on the railway track at Beohari railway station. The woman had been missing from home for two days, and her husband had filed a complaint with police to search for her. Police said she had died after being run over by a train, and the investigation was continuing. According to police, Janki Rathore had gone missing from her home two days earlier. Her husband, Sampat Rathore, said his wife was not mentally well and was under treatment. He said: “My wife suddenly left the house. I had filed a missing-person report with police.” When local people saw the body on the railway track, they immediately informed police. Station in-charge Arun Pandey said: “The woman has been identified as Janki Rathore. Police had already received a report of her going missing. We are investigating the matter seriously.” Given the woman’s mental condition, police said it was possible that she was attempting to take her own life. Police took the body into custody and began the necessary proceedings. However, the actual cause of Janki’s death was not yet clear. Police had started the required procedures for further investigation and were also collecting information from local people. After the post-mortem, police handed the body over to the family. Police were to investigate further once the post-mortem report arrived; for the time being a marg (unnatural death case) had been registered and the investigation continued.
