Rewa now has the most expensive commercial LPG cylinder in Madhya Pradesh, at ₹3,066, according to a Free Press Journal report published on 1 October. The newspaper said commercial cylinder prices in the state rose by between ₹62.50 and ₹65 from that date, while the price of domestic cylinders was left unchanged.

The Free Press Journal reported that oil marketing companies raised commercial LPG prices by up to ₹70 across the country. Navbharat Live, also reporting on 1 October, said the 19-kg commercial cylinder in Delhi moved from ₹2,747.50 to ₹2,810, an increase of ₹62.50. The same report noted a rise of ₹71.50 in Patna, which means the “up to ₹62.50” figure in its own text does not cover every city.

The Free Press Journal listed commercial prices for several cities: ₹2,815 in Bhopal, ₹2,919 in Indore, ₹3,030 in Jabalpur, ₹3,037 in Gwalior and ₹2,980 in Ujjain. In and around the Vindhya region, it gave ₹3,064 for Singrauli, ₹3,063.50 for Satna and ₹3,061 for Panna, with Rewa above them all at ₹3,066. Commercial cylinders cost ₹3,000 or more in 26 districts of the state, while Shajapur and Sehore had the lowest prices mentioned, at ₹2,822. The reports reviewed do not explain why prices differ between districts, and they do not give Rewa's previous price, so the size of the rise in the district is not stated.

Domestic cylinder prices, which the newspaper said did not change, were ₹947.50 in Bhopal, ₹970 in Indore, ₹948.50 in Jabalpur, ₹1,025.50 in Gwalior and ₹1,001.50 in Ujjain. Rewa's domestic price was not included in the report. Navbharat Live said domestic prices were last revised on 7 June 2026, so households are not affected by the latest change.

The revision is likely to matter most to restaurants, caterers and other small businesses that depend on commercial cylinders. The Free Press Journal quoted Abhishek Baheti, a representative of the National Restaurant Association of India, as saying that a commercial cylinder cost about ₹1,800 before a gas crisis and later rose to ₹3,300. He said prices were reduced afterwards, but that repeated increases over two months have strained restaurant owners. Caterers in Bhopal warned that the increase could make wedding catering more expensive, since the wedding season begins after Diwali, the newspaper added.

Navbharat Live also gave a recent price history for commercial cylinders. It reported a cut of ₹183.50 on 1 July, a further cut of ₹209 on 1 August and a rise of ₹9.50 on 1 September, and said prices had peaked at ₹3,071.50 in May. The report does not specify the city for every figure, so these numbers are best read as an indication of direction rather than as Rewa prices. Operators in the district will be watching whether the next monthly revision brings relief.
