The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) has set the exam calendar for its 2026-27 recruitment of staff for regional rural banks (RRBs), a drive reported to cover 13,757 vacancies. According to the exam-preparation websites Testbook and Careerpower, whose pages were updated on October 7, the application stage is over and the correction window was open on October 7 and 8.

Both sites put the total at 13,757, up from 13,745 in an earlier notice after 12 posts were added. Careerpower lists 8,222 Office Assistant (Multipurpose) posts and 4,256 Officer Scale I posts, with the remaining 1,279 spread across Officer Scale II and Officer Scale III. Testbook breaks these down as 1,059 for Scale II and 220 for Scale III, though it also notes that its own tables carry slightly different figures for some posts, so the board's final numbers should be checked.

The detailed notification was released on August 31, 2026, according to both reports. They disagree on when applications closed: Testbook gives September 21, while Careerpower gives September 27. Candidates who applied are advised to rely on the IBPS website for any official clarification.

Both sites agree on the main exam dates. The Officer Scale I preliminary exam is listed for November 21 and 22, 2026, with the main exam on December 20. The Officer Scale II and III posts have a single online exam on December 20. For Office Assistants, the preliminary exam is listed for December, with the main exam on January 30, 2027. The two sites give slightly different December dates for the clerk preliminaries, and Testbook adds that pre-exam training is planned for November and interviews for January or February 2027. Careerpower expects the officer-scale admit cards in the second week of November.

On eligibility, Testbook reports that Office Assistant and Officer Scale I posts require a bachelor's degree in any discipline, with age limits of 18 to 28 and 18 to 30 years respectively. Officer Scale II is listed for ages 21 to 32 and varies by specialist stream, while Officer Scale III requires a degree with 50 per cent marks, five years of experience as a bank or financial-institution officer and an age of 21 to 40. Fees were reported as Rs 175 for SC, ST, persons with disabilities and ex-servicemen and Rs 850 for other candidates.

The selection process differs by post. Office Assistants and Officer Scale I candidates face preliminary and main exams, with an interview added for Scale I. Scale II and III candidates take one online exam followed by an interview, according to Testbook. Testbook cautions that dates can change, and neither site is an official source. Aspirants from Madhya Pradesh and elsewhere should confirm schedules and the state-wise vacancy list on the IBPS website before preparing travel or leave plans.
