Journalists and public representatives plant trees at Govindgarh’s Tridandi Math under ‘A Tree in Mother’s Name’ drive
Under the Hariyali Mahotsav campaign, journalists and local representatives planted fruit, shade and flowering trees at the Tridandi Math in Govindgarh and pledged to look after them.

As part of the Hariyali Mahotsav campaign to make environmental awareness a people’s movement, journalists and public representatives planted trees under ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ (A Tree in Mother’s Name) in the Tridandi Math complex, under the guidance of Jagadguru Ramanujacharya Shri Swami Sheshmanidasacharya Ji Maharaj of the Tridandi Math, sending a message of environmental protection.
With mantras recited by Pandit Deep Narayan Shastri
a tree-planting programme was held on Tuesday in the Tridandi Math complex in Govindgarh. Fruit-bearing, shade and flowering saplings were planted. Participants pledged not only to plant saplings but also to take responsibility for watering and caring for them throughout the year.
Everyone said in one voice that if any plant died, a new one would be planted in its place.
Senior BJP leader Narayan Mishra praised the campaign and said journalists did not only report news but also created awareness and consciousness in society, whether on environmental protection, safeguarding water sources or social concerns. He said everyone would have to participate actively in protecting the environment.
Views of those who took part in the plantation
The Tridandi Math has been running this campaign for several years. The math is the biggest example of this campaign in Govindgarh town. Despite limited resources, many saplings have been planted here that are now growing into oxygen tanks. Every person must come forward to protect the environment.
Jagadguru Ramanujacharya Shri Swami Sheshmanidasacharya Ji Maharaj.
The Hariyali Mahotsav and ‘A Tree in Mother’s Name’ campaign is a way of connecting with nature. Every person should plant at least one sapling a year. Trees give us free oxygen, shade and fruit. A sapling planted today will become a life-giving tree in future. I appreciate Patrika’s campaign.
Senior BJP leader Narayan Mishra, Gurh.
This campaign is invaluable for future generations. By planting trees we can secure tomorrow. Every citizen should become a protector of the environment. It should not be just a campaign but a way of life. Patrika is doing excellent work in spreading awareness in society.
Dr Mahesh Singh, senior journalist, Patrika newspaper.
It is our responsibility that the next generation gets a green environment. Our campaign gives society a new direction. Life without trees is unimaginable. Every sapling is a shield against coming crises. I pledge to plant a sapling every year.
City journalist Mrigendra Singh.
Making the Govindgarh Tridandi Math complex green is our priority. Only trees give pure air and a peaceful environment. This campaign has set a fine example of public participation. I am proud to have taken part. This is a beginning; we should all keep it going.
Alakh Muni Tiwari, former BJP mandal president and district working committee member.
