Toyota Teases Glanza Facelift Ahead of Reported 14 October Debut
Toyota has teased the front of the updated Glanza hatchback before a reported 14 October debut. Engine, features and price details are still expectations, according to Autocar India and Autocar Professional.

Toyota has released its first teaser of the facelifted Glanza hatchback ahead of a debut that dealer sources have placed on 14 October, according to Autocar India and Autocar Professional. The teaser, which Autocar India reported on 12 October, shows only the front of the car. At the time of writing, the launch itself and the final prices had not been confirmed by the company in the reports reviewed.
Autocar India says the teaser reveals a larger grille with a honeycomb mesh pattern and chrome strips on its sides. The Toyota logo moves from the grille to a body-coloured panel above it, and a thick chrome strip runs between the headlights. Revised LED fog lamps are also visible. The headlights, daytime running lamps and tail-lamps are expected to look much as they do now, and only the design of the 16-inch alloy wheels may change.
Most of the other details are expectations rather than confirmed facts. Both publications say the facelift is likely to use the 1.2-litre, three-cylinder Z12E petrol engine that Maruti Suzuki introduced in the updated Baleno, replacing the current four-cylinder K12N. The engine is rated at 83 hp and 112 Nm, which Autocar India says is 7 hp and 1 Nm lower than the unit it replaces. A 70 hp CNG version with a manual gearbox is also expected. Petrol models currently come with a five-speed manual or a five-speed automated manual transmission, and these are expected to continue.
Autocar India lists ventilated front seats, a wireless phone charger with cooling vents, a Clarion sound system and a new driver-assistance package as likely additions. Autocar Professional expects Level 2 ADAS and tyre pressure monitoring. Autocar India does not expect a sunroof or a digital driver’s display, and the cabin design is expected to carry over with the update focused on added equipment.
On price, Autocar India says the current Glanza costs between Rs 6.73 lakh and Rs 9.99 lakh ex-showroom and that the facelift is expected to start around Rs 6.75 lakh. Autocar Professional also expects a slight increase over the present range. Both figures are estimates, not Toyota announcements. The publications name the Maruti Baleno, the Hyundai i20 and the Tata Altroz as the main rivals.
Autocar Professional noted that the Glanza update would arrive about a month after the facelifted Baleno. Readers who plan to buy a premium hatchback this festive season may want to wait for the official prices and variant details before deciding. The photograph with this article shows an earlier Glanza and is a file image, not the facelifted car.
