“Be alert, stay safe” was an appeal made to the public by police personnel and officers alike, but because of a lack of public awareness criminals managed to commit crimes. That did not mean the police could not catch them. As soon as police received information about a crime, they made every effort to catch the culprit as quickly as possible. One such recent case came to light. Dharmendra Singh, a resident of Ratahar village in the Gohparu police station area, went to a tractor agency a day earlier with two outsiders and bought a tractor. As he had no space to park it at his own home, he parked it near another person’s house. In the middle of the night, the outsiders stole the tractor and fled. The police were informed, and the SP, sitting in the district, became active as soon as he heard of the matter, and within 24 hours police caught the tractor thieves.

When employees of the Swaraj tractor agency spoke to owner Dharmendra Singh about completing the paperwork, he told them the whole story of the tractor theft. Agency employees immediately informed Rajkumar Kharia, the Swaraj tractor dealer, who promptly phoned SP Ram Ji Shrivastava and told him everything. After receiving the information, the SP actively alerted all police station in-charges and the cyber cell and issued instructions. As soon as the location was traced, a cordon began, and Gohparu police caught the tractor thieves from Morena in Datia.

Gohparu station in-charge Vinay Singh Gaharwar said the action was taken under the direction of the Superintendent of Police. On 27 August 2025, Dharmendra Singh of Ratahar came to Gohparu police station and said he had bought a Swaraj tractor from Shahdol on 25 August 2025. As there was no space at home, he had parked it near the house of Ramswaroop Baig of Ratahar. Dinesh Kushwaha of Morena and Rohit Parmar alias Manoj Singh Parmar of Morena, who had been staying at Ramswaroop Baig’s house for a month, took the tractor away without informing anyone on the night of 26 August 2025. A case was registered on 27 August 2025 on Ramswaroop’s report. The location of the two accused was traced beyond Chhatarpur and Panna. A team was sent from the station to catch them, and the accused were caught with the tractor in Datia. Station in-charge Vinay Singh Gaharwar, head constables Ravi Yadav and Bhuvaneshwar Singh, and constable Monu Sharma played a commendable role in the operation. The accused were arrested and produced in court.

Traders and social workers honoured the SP

Catching the Morena tractor thieves within 24 hours under the direction of Shahdol Superintendent of Police Ram Ji Shrivastava was highly commendable work. Traders and social workers of Shahdol city honoured SP Shrivastava with a bouquet, and Swaraj tractor dealer Rajkumar Kharia thanked him. Those present at the programme included Kamal Pratap Singh (former BJP district president), Rajendra Bharti, Manoj Gupta, Shatrughan Gupta, Chandresh Dwivedi, Padam Khemka, BJP general secretary Nagendra Gole and Aman Kharia, among others.
