Prince Dwivedi, a resident of Katauli village in the Jiyawan police station area, had recently died by suicide by hanging. Grieving family members of the deceased alleged that Rajesh Dwivedi, son of Kamlesh Dwivedi, and Anis Dwivedi, son of Kamlesh Dwivedi, both residents of Katauli, harassed him by abusing him and blocking his way and beating him on a regular basis. Jiyawan police were investigating the matter. During the investigation, certain facts emerged that made it clear, according to police, that Prince Dwivedi took his life because he was fed up with their harassment. Police therefore registered a case against the accused Rajesh Dwivedi and Anis Dwivedi under Crime No. 337/2025, BNS sections 108, 115(2) and 351(2)(3)(5), and were searching for them. Jiyawan police arrested them on 24 August 2025 and produced them in court, which sent them to jail. The deceased’s family members praised the Jiyawan police action, expressed satisfaction and thanked the police.
