The family had submitted a written complaint to the SP and the station in-charge on August 4, seeking a check of phone call details to learn the reason behind the suicide and legal action against whoever was guilty. In the complaint to the SP, Saurabh Tiwari’s father, Kamlesh Tiwari of village Maseera, stated that his son was married on May 23, 2025 in village Chandela. After the wedding, the daughter-in-law stayed at home for 10 days and then went to her parents’ home. Son Saurabh also went to Hyderabad for work. The couple spoke by phone. A few days later Saurabh told the family that his wife was pressuring him to transfer Rs 10 lakh in cash and 5 acres of land in her name. Saurabh also told the family that when he called late at night her phone was often busy, and when he asked about it she would start quarrelling. Later, according to the complaint, Rs 10 lakh was being demanded and they were threatening to implicate the family in a false case.
