Indian Railways has announced a tri-weekly festival special train between Khajuraho and Hazrat Nizamuddin in Delhi, with 13 trips planned in each direction. The announcement was reported on October 19.

Train number 01913 runs from Khajuraho to Hazrat Nizamuddin between October 21 and November 18, 2026, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. The return service, 01914, runs from Nizamuddin between October 22 and November 19 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

The train leaves Khajuraho at 10:15 pm and reaches Hazrat Nizamuddin at 11:00 am the next day. In the other direction it leaves Nizamuddin at 12:30 pm and reaches Khajuraho at 3:30 am the next day. It will have AC, sleeper and general coaches.

Stops are listed for the Khajuraho-bound journey and are stated to be the same for the return. They include Daria Ganj, Maharaja Chhatrasal Station Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, Dailwara, Virangana Lakshmibai Jhansi Junction, Datia, Dabra, Gwalior, Morena, Dholpur, Agra Cantt, Mathura and Kosi Kalan.

Festival specials are meant to ease the rush on regular trains around Diwali and Chhath. For Khajuraho, a direct overnight link with Delhi helps both tourists, who come to see the temples, and residents of Bundelkhand who work in the capital region. Passengers can check running status and booking details on the National Train Enquiry System or by calling the railway helpline 139.

Festival specials are usually introduced to handle the extra rush around holidays, and they run on a fixed calendar only for the announced dates. Passengers should check the booking status, coach composition and timings on the official railway portal, as special trains are sometimes rescheduled. The route also links the temple town with Jhansi, Gwalior and Agra for onward connections.
