Farmers with complaint letter to Deputy CM over fertiliser black-marketing in Rewa

Farmers handed a complaint letter to the Deputy CM over negligence of agriculture officials and arbitrary fertiliser distribution by traders.

Taking note of the matter, Mangawan SDM Sanjay Jain ensured action and, for two days, had fertiliser made available to farmers at the fixed rate in the presence of his staff and police personnel. Complaints of traders selling fertiliser at arbitrary prices were being received not only from Mangawan but from the entire district. Fertiliser not reaching the cooperative societies while being stored in traders’ warehouses placed the role of the responsible officials under suspicion. Speaking to journalists, the affected farmers demanded justice. They also said that at the Deputy CM’s birthday event, farmers would submit memorandums on their problems, including fertiliser and seeds, and that black-marketing had to be curbed.
