On the directions of Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr Saurabh Sonawane, action was taken to remove ad kiosks installed on electric poles in the Shilpi Plaza area. The action was carried out under the leadership of Assistant Commissioner Sheetal Bhalavi.

The corporation was running a special drive in the city to implement the Madhya Pradesh Outdoor Advertising Media Rules 2017. As part of this, ad kiosks were removed from more than 15 electric poles. Preparations were also under way to remove about 40 ad kiosks installed near the College Chowk area.

It is worth noting that a contract for these ad kiosks had earlier been made through a tender process, and its term ended in July. After the contract ended, the corporation issued notices to the parties concerned to remove them themselves. When the kiosks were not removed within the stipulated time, the corporation’s team took action and removed them.

Municipal Corporation officials, employees and the anti-encroachment squad were present on the spot.
